Local Charlotte Artists We Love

Celebrating Charlotte

Local Artists we love to work with!

When possible, we work with local artists to create a one of a kind piece within our designs and make our client’s properties unique.

South Park Interiors is based in Charlotte, NC, and creates spaces across the country that bring innovation, originality, and function through design.

We love to use local artists to create unique installations for us when possible, whether it’s wall art or murals for interiors or exteriors. Not only does it support the same community in which we work, it also creates a unique connection between clients and artists that gives it an extra layer of authenticity.

If you’re seeking an artist for an original design for your commercial space in Charlotte, we suggest taking our lead by searching locally. In this blog, we’re sharing:

Kathryn Crawford

Kathryn Crawford is the owner and namesake of Kathryn Crawford Art. She specializes in large wall murals that adorn cityscapes, restaurants, offices, stores, and other public settings. She describes her style as abstracted realism, where she creates different layers of depth and dimension to bring her work to life. After growing up in New England, Kathryn traveled to Florence, Italy to study art, then graduated with a BFA from the University of Tampa before relocating to Charlotte.

We commissioned Kathryn to create a custom mural for our project at The Address Galleria in Matthews, NC. This rental community offers 1-3 bedroom apartments and resort-style amenities. Kathryn’s bold use of color, an affinity for flowers, and vibrant combinations of abstract and concrete imagery felt like the perfect fit for this upscale community.

Morgan Cook

Morgan Cook is a muralist specializing in graffiti, murals, and style writings. With 12 years of experience in public art installations, Morgan has adorned gyms, schools, and living spaces with his signature style.

South Park Interiors commissioned Morgan to create a custom mural for our project at West End Flats in Carrboro, NC. The indoor pool area was a blank canvas that could benefit from a little color and style. Morgan developed a graffiti-like wall mural that included the name of the residential community. The blue hue in the mural naturally reflects the color of the pool, allowing the two to create a consistent look and feel in the space. The mural’s bold design can easily be seen from the large windows leading to outdoor seating areas, helping to create a fun and inviting environment.
